A Whale of a Dilemma

Two whales, a male and a female, were swimming side-by-side on a routine feeding journey.  Suddenly, the male spots a ship in the distance.  "I think I know that vessel," said the male cryptically, and began swimming toward the ship.

When they had swum closer, the male said, "Indeed! That's the ship that killed my father! I must have my revenge!"  After a few moments of thought, he exclaimed, "I've got it: we'll swim under the ship,  blow fiercely through our blow-holes--which will break the ship asunder."  The female agreed to the plan.

Accordingly, each leviathan took a deep breath, swam beneath the ship, then expelled enormous quantities of air against the ship's hull. The out-rush of air cracked the hull amidships near a critical bulkhead.  Despite their best efforts, the crew was unable to staunch the flow of the sea, and the captain eventually issued orders to abandon ship.

Seeing the crew abandoning ship en masse, the male decided to deliver the coup de grace:  "Those bastards are still alive...but my thirst for vengeance is not yet slaked.  We shall now gulp them down without mercy!"

Upon hearing of her mate's plan, the female fishtailed to a halt, looked straight into his eyes, and said, "Sir!  I did indeed agree to the blow job,  but I'll not swallow the seamen."
